Read at your own risk.Book Neck-Deep In It: A LitRPG and GameLit Series. (The World Book 8) Review :
First, even with pain dampening, the idea that people would just ignore being shot, staged and burned so readily is only plausible to someone that has never suffered any of these injuries before.Next is the overwhelming force players are supposed to fight; without a tangible reward, few people would willingly keep playing against impossible odds they are u posed to lose to, especially if the company keeps making sure its impossible to win.Third is the idea that a company would allow players deliberately paid t sabotage the game to keep playing. If the game is ruined, then there's no profit. No company would accept that.Fourth, a company would be both criminally and civilly liable for damages allowing rape and torture in a game. The corporate lawyers wouldn't allow such to exist in the game. The authors claim of the philosophy guiding the game is effectively voided out by how the game is actually being ran.In addition, the book effectively ends at the 87% point, with the rest as meaningless filler; character sheets, appendix etc used to pad pages but with no real relevance to the story. Even the character sheets aren't updates to the shot the book. I really like this series it is a unique story and goes in-depth without feeling like it is filled with useless fluff. I like that this book covered just 24 hours and did it well from multiple viewpoints and multiple locations. I was glad to hear that the author is recovering well from some health issues which caused the delay in book being written. I eagerly look Ford to the next day’s events.
